Bernhart tries to warn Namor about Jacqueline, but he refuses to believe him until, during a scuffle with the police, Bernhart is accidentally shot in the same manner Jacqueline’s father was shot when she was a child. Namor follows Bernhart’s directions to Jacqueline’s lair, Pontus, the tomb of Neptune, where he confronts Jacqueline and her pawns — Dragonrider, Proteus, and the Mad Twins. Upon returning to Atlantis, Namor is informed by Dara that he has been deemed unfit to rule.
