Pretty Violent #3

Pretty Violent delivers exactly what its subtitle promises — lots of swears and plenty of mayhem — and issue #3 keeps the energy cranked up. The cover shows our pint-sized, pink-hatted heroine perched triumphantly atop the head of a massive, grotesque creature, absolutely drenched in red and wielding what appears to be a crystal or gem aloft, while the beast's enormous, slack-jawed mouth drips with neon-yellow goo below her. It's absurd, gleefully over-the-top cartooning from Derek Hunter, Jason Young, and Spencer Holt — the kind of book that shouldn't work but absolutely does.
