Precious Metal #6

Ian Bertram's cover for this sixth and final issue of Precious Metal — set in the world of Little Bird — is a genuinely arresting image: a pale, wide-eyed figure hovers against a star-speckled void, their body erupting into an enormous, fan-like mass of interlocked tools and metalwork, all shot through with vivid crimson, while dark churning clouds billow beneath them. The fusion of the organic and industrial feels both beautiful and unsettling, a fitting visual culmination for a series that has clearly embraced ambitious, visceral imagery throughout its run. With Darcy Van Poelgeest, Matt Hollingsworth, Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou, and Ben Didier rounding out the creative team, this 2024 Image release is a strong sendoff to a boldly conceived world.
