Powers of X #6

The grand finale of Jonathan Hickman's Powers of X closes with a cover that lingers: a lone dark-haired woman in a flowing coat stands composed atop a vast pile of fallen mutants — among them recognizable figures in X-Men uniforms, Mystique, and what appears to be a hulking Sentinel looming in the background — while blossoming pink trees scatter petals across the scene like a quiet elegy. R. B. Silva's linework, colored by Marte Gracia, strikes a remarkable tonal balance between devastation and strange beauty. As the sixth and final chapter of this six-issue series, it's a fitting visual statement for one of 2019's most ambitious Marvel stories.
