“Welcome To Security City”

Luke Cage tears through a chain-link fence with raw power on this 1975 Marvel cover, his yellow shirt open and chains flying as armed, helmeted guards loom in the foreground and frightened civilians look on behind him. A sign reading "Welcome to Security City — The Planned Community Where You'd Better Belong — Or Else!" sets an ominous tone that promises plenty of tension ahead. With cover pencils by Ron Wilson and inks by Klaus Janson, it's a striking visual introduction to whatever authoritarian nightmare Power Man is about to walk into.
