The striking stained-glass window composition on this cover says everything about where Postal has arrived by its twentieth issue — a young mail carrier stands at the center, haloed in golden light, while a shadowy dark figure looms behind him and an array of armed, morally ambiguous characters fill the flanking panels. Blood-streaked hands and a chain crowd the foreground, grounding the almost devotional imagery in the series' signature tension between small-town order and lurking violence. Michael Russell, this 2017 Top Cow/Image entry is a beautifully unsettling milestone for one of indie crime comics' most thoughtfully crafted series.
