Ray Fawkes brings a wonderfully offbeat vision to life in this 2010 Oni Press graphic novel, Possessions Book One: Unclean Getaway. The cover art — also by Fawkes — features a wild-eyed, grinning girl in a teal dress, arms flung wide against a vivid yellow background, surrounded by a border of cheerful skull-and-crossbones motifs that set the tone perfectly. It's a delightfully creepy-cute package that promises something genuinely different from the supernatural genre.
