Ralf König's irreverent wit is on full display with this 2016 Rowohlt release, whose cover sets the tone perfectly: a nude figure wearing a Darth Vader helmet sits casually on a chair beside a woman in a purple top who flips through what appears to be a magazine, bags at her feet — an absurdly deadpan domestic tableau. König's clean, expressive linework gives the whole scene a matter-of-fact hilarity that feels entirely at home in his signature style, and with Nicolas Mahler also joining as co-writer and artist, Pornstory promises a sharp, comics-savvy sense of humor throughout.
