Porky Pig #33 finds everyone's favorite stammering pig in a sticky situation — the cover by Tony Strobl shows Porky draped over a large maple syrup barrel on the back of a delivery truck, while a mischievous young figure below clutches a bow, having apparently just shot an arrow clean through the barrel, sending syrup dripping to the ground. Strobl's cartooning is lively and expressive, capturing that perfect blend of exasperation and chaos that made Dell's Looney Tunes books such a delight in 1954. A charming, good-humored addition to any collection of mid-century funny animal comics.
