☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join free# Popular Teen-Agers #5 This anthology issue contains three stories featuring the named characters: "Ginger Bunny—Some Cookie" follows a girl heading to a summer camp for a two-week vacation; "Midge Martin—Girl Reporter" depicts a newspaper editor assigning Midge to cover a story, leading her to investigate a passion potion and locate a forget-me-not grove, ultimately uncovering a purchasing agent's scheme involving a rajah and a rose with thorns; and the cover story shows teenagers at a beach, with dialogue referencing swimming suits and admiring beachgoers.
When Eve Ardor spots a fake argument between Toni Gay and Butch Dykeman, she schemes to win Butch's attention—but her jealousy backfires spectacularly when she tricks Toni into babysitting her bratty brother Arthur for the evening. What starts as revenge spirals into absolute chaos as Arthur becomes the unwilling pawn in an escalating battle of wits between two rival teens, with Butch caught in the middle of their spiraling "Brat Race."
When Ginger Bunn arrives at Camp Gitchi-Goona expecting romance with boys from the neighboring camp, she instead gets saddled with babysitting duty for Merton and Burton Newton—the camp director's rowdy sons—while her bunkmates prepare for the weekly visit. But when the athletic counselor Lefty Wright sabotages all the rowboats to keep the boys in check, Ginger hatches a daring plan involving the camp's raft buoy that might just get everyone across the lake—though probably not in the way anyone expected. It's a lighthearted romp that turns one girl's punishment into an unlikely adventure.
Midge Martin, a skeptical girl reporter, investigates a mysterious "Passion Potion" being hawked by the smooth-talking Lovett Throbheart in Glenview—and despite her doubts, drinks some herself to expose the scheme as a fraud. When the potion actually works, sending her into an infatuated frenzy, Midge discovers that Lovett and his associate have far more sinister plans than selling love potions, and she'll need all her wits to stop them before the effects wear off.
Eve Adams, an exchange student in New Delhi, gets herself and her aunt Auntie Adeline swept up in a scheme by the Rajah Smaja's overzealous purchasing agent—who buys them at a bazaar and delivers them straight to the palace. When the Rajah decides Eve will become his bride and locks Auntie in the tower, Eve has to use her wits and a few clever tricks to spring them both and turn the tables on the lecherous maharajah.
