This graphic memoir by Brigitte Findakly, co-created with her husband Lewis Trondheim, recounts her childhood in 1960s and 1970s Iraq, a time of relative stability before the country's descent into war and dictatorship. Through vignettes and family stories, it offers a personal, understated look at everyday life, cultural shifts, and the gradual unraveling of a society under political turmoil. Drawn & Quarterly published this English-language edition in 2017, collecting the entire narrative originally serialized in French.
