Pop Art Funnies #4
In "The Saginaw Kid," a 2005 issue from MPH, cynicalman’s late-night vigil for a war to unfold on TV becomes a surreal meditation on anticipation and futility. Written and illustrated entirely by Matt Feazell, with lettering and inking by the same hand, the story captures a quiet, absurdist moment where reality slips through the cracks of waiting. The cover by Martin Hirchak adds a sharp, stylized edge to the issue’s offbeat tone.
