Polly Pigtails #2 (Feb.–March 1946) is an anthology magazine for girls featuring multiple stories and features. "Adventure at Dawn," by Mabel Leigh Hunt, follows Paula and Jean Blake as they plan a morning bike ride with their friend Chunky Davis, who arrives with an idea for an exciting adventure. A comic story titled "Saved from the Nazis" recounts how two Czechoslovak children, Alenka and Jirik Samal, were spirited away from their home in 1942 by the Nazis but were eventually reunited with their mother after the war. The issue also includes a "Headline Girls" photo feature showcasing girls around the world engaged in noteworthy activities, from laying flowers at war memorials in Holland to appearing in films and competing in contests.
