Michele Condosta's Pokereiland reaches its seventh chapter with "Openbaring" (Revelation), and this cover radiates a sense of wonder and tension in equal measure. A determined young boy in a brown jacket strides forward through a burst of brilliant white light, enormous ethereal wings unfurling behind him, while a blue-haired girl in the foreground watches with wide, uncertain eyes — the whole scene framed by a lush border of red roses that gives it a storybook intensity.
