Pocket Mad #5
In this delightfully absurd 1991 issue of Pocket Mad, Al Jaffee—writing, drawing, inking, and shaping the whole chaotic vision—presents a surreal twist on identity and perception. When a man claiming to be Rock Hudson is met with skepticism simply because he goes by the far more memorable (and ridiculous) name Ziglveit B. Shtoonk, the joke turns into a bizarre social commentary, all delivered with Jaffee’s signature wit and the Italian translation’s sharp lettering by Ferruccio Alessandri.
