DC's self-billed "New Magazine of Weird Humor" hits its stride with this second issue, featuring a Basil Wolverton cover that's equal parts grotesque and gleefully absurd — a grinning, tangled creature draped head-to-toe in what its caption identifies as the world's longest arteries, now desperately trying to outrun "roving bands of fanatical spaghetti lovers." The border of tiny yellow figures surrounding the central monstrosity only adds to the cheerful chaos. Inside, Sergio Aragonés handles writing, art, and inking duties on "The Demand," making this a fine early showcase for one of comics' most inventive humorists.
