In a separate subplot, con men Captain Billions and Rocky attempt to swindle money from each other over a valuable boat at the Tenth Street Wharf, but their schemes go awry when Plastic Man intervenes. The issue culminates with Plastic Man discovering Rocky's grandmother among the chaos, leading to comedic complications as he tries to manage the situation while the criminals scatter.
Plastic Man thinks he's cornered the criminal Rocky Crookes during a daring armored car heist, but the appearance of a sweet elderly woman claiming to be Rocky's grandmother throws him completely off his game—leaving the real culprit free to slip away. When Plastic Man returns to check on the kindly old lady, he discovers that sentiment and shifty criminals can be a dangerous mix, and what he thought was an innocent grandmother might be something far more suspicious. With his rubber powers tested by flying fists and flying bullets, Plastic Man has to stay sharp to separate the heartwarming from the heartfelt before Rocky disappears for good.
