After Poison Pen's weasel minions attack and Plastic Man defeats them, he pursues the criminal through the fairgrounds and engages in combat. When Plastic Man appears to have the upper hand, Poison Pen attempts to escape but is ultimately captured by authorities. The issue also features a Woozy Winks backup story titled "Tomorrow's Newspaper."
When Poison Pen Pullman discovers the legendary Fountain of Youth hidden deep in a tropical jungle, he realizes its waters don't restore youth—they accelerate aging at terrifying speed. Now the blackmailer hatches a sinister scheme to extort Spangler Groome using the fountain's deadly secret, and Plastic Man must race to stop him before an innocent man pays the ultimate price. With F.B.I. Chief Branner and the ever-optimistic Woozy Winks backing him up, Plastic Man pursues a villain armed with a power that turns youth itself into a weapon.
When Woozy Winks stumbles upon a newspaper dated tomorrow, he sees his chance to turn his broke, miserable luck around—but his attempts to profit from advance knowledge of future events keep backfiring spectacularly. Racing against time and his own questionable judgment, Woozy tries to warn the wealthy J. Rufus Koofts about an impending robbery, only to discover that knowing what's coming doesn't always mean things will go the way you expect. It's a hilarious romp through one desperate schemer's attempts to outsmart fate itself.
When a reformed master criminal named Nevermore is released from prison swearing he's through with crime, Plastic Man follows closely to test his sincerity—only to discover the crook's redemption might be nothing but an elaborate con to worm his way into the confidence of a wealthy heiress. As Nevermore maneuvers himself into the household, Plastic Man must stay one step ahead to expose the truth before the gang strikes.
Plastic Man suspects arch-criminal Wishbone of planning a heist, but a beautiful con artist known only as The Figure orchestrates a clever scheme to frame him while raiding the Novel Novelty Works safe—using her looks and quick mathematical mind to manipulate the entire operation. When Plastic Man catches on to her tricks, he must outwit The Figure before she uses a vulcanizer to flatten him for good.
