A gleaming blue Pontiac GTO commands the cover of this opening volume in Christian Papazoglakis's Harry Octane series, its chrome grille and hood scoop filling the foreground as two passengers — a focused man at the wheel and a woman leaning in close — race across the Golden Gate Bridge beneath a vivid California sky. Papazoglakis's linework, brought to life with rich color by Tanja Cinna, gives the composition a cinematic energy that feels equal parts road-trip adventure and sun-drenched '60s cool. If "Transam" is any indication, this 2012 series has a real feel for the romance of the open road and the machines that define it.
