A commanding ape figure dominates the foreground of this 2011 Boom! Studios release, clutching a scroll or rolled document while surveying a city engulfed in fire and billowing smoke — transmission towers and crumbling structures visible in the chaos behind. Smaller figures, both ape and human, scatter through the burning ruins below, lending the scene a genuine sense of upheaval and scale. Carlos Magno's cover linework captures the tension of a world in upheaval, and with Daryl Gregory driving the story, issue #7 looks like a compelling chapter in this ambitious series.
