The mutants seek Brent's help against the apes. Brent is reluctant to help, so the mutants use threats against Nova as leverage. Dr. Zaius and General Ursus lead a large army into the Forbidden Zone. Brent watches as the worshipers of the atomic bomb reveal themselves to their 'god' by removing their life-like masks and revealing themselves to be hidously scarred and mutated.
