Planet of the Apes #12
Against a blood-red sky and the silhouette of an ape city, a dignified ape figure in formal robes cradles what appears to be a swaddled infant — a quietly powerful image that feels equal parts tender and ominous. Carlos Magno's cover art brings real emotional weight to this twelfth issue, closing out the "Children of Fire" arc with a visual that lingers long after you set the book down. Daryl Gregory and Magno's 2012 BOOM! Studios run has been a thoughtful addition to the Planet of the Apes mythology, and this chapter looks to be no exception.
