“Winter in July”

In "Winter in July," spacefarer Auro lands on a foreign planetoid to repair his rocket ship, only to find himself caught in a tense chase when he intervenes to save a princess from a ruthless gang after she’s revealed to be in possession of a priceless jewel. The story unfolds with a blend of interstellar adventure and sudden peril, all rendered in the distinctive style of Joe Doolin, whose artwork—both in the interior and on the cover by John Celardo—brings the alien world to vivid life.
