Pieśń strzyg #3

This third volume of Pieśń strzyg carries the subtitle "Wpływy" (Influences), and Richard Guérineau's cover sets a tense, atmospheric tone right away: a red-haired man with a pistol and a dark-haired woman stand their ground in the foreground, while three hooded, armed figures loom ominously behind them in silhouette — and off to the side, a silver-haired man sits at a table, cigarette in hand, coolly detached from the danger. Éric Corbeyran's writing and Isabelle Merlet's deep blue color palette combine to give the whole scene a brooding, thriller sensibility that pulls you in. Published by Egmont Polska in 2003, this Polish edition is a compelling entry point into what looks like a world of shadowy power and escalating conflict.
