Neil's wife had left him three years before and he had gone to Canada to forget, leaving his children in the care of their aunt. Now Sheena has been hired to bring the children to him. Although he seems to be a woman-hater, she accompanies them to his farm in remote Kilvane. After a time, she tells him she wants to leave and he blurts out that he loves her. He marries Sheena, thinking his first wife was dead, but she is actually still alive and she wants money from him.
