Sheila is engaged to a fine doctor, twenty years older than her. But when she is rescued from ledge near the sea by a young fisherman, she realizes she loves him instead. She marries the fisherman and he is looking forward to having a son when he learns she is pregnant. But Sheila loses the baby and the doctors tell her she must never have another child. Knowing how much it means to Adam, she secretly contacts her former fiancé who helps her arrange an operation so she can give her husband a son.
