Later she goes out for a swim, but gets in trouble. Her father tries to save her, but has difficulty due to a partly paralysed arm. They are both on the verge of drowning when a man with a cane saves them both, then disappears. The incident changes June, but she is unable to contact Pat. She decides to take a job in the city. She falls in love with her handsome boss, but keeps thinking about his blind brother.
