Margaret's uncle dies, leaving her as an equal partner in a tanning business. She doesn't care about running the business, so she goes to London with a check representing her share of the profits for the current year. She has an affair with a man who promises to make her a movie star. But due to money problems, he is always asking her for money to continue shooting. Margaret keeps asking for advances which her partner reluctantly grants until the business is on the verge of bankruptcy. When she engages a lawyer to investigate the business, she learns her London lover is a con man.
