“I Remember”

"I Remember" is a quietly devastating tale from Picture Romance Library #236 (1962), where a secretary’s routine day spirals into a haunting mystery after she finds her boss unconscious and a stranger fleeing with a crucial envelope. Drawn with restrained emotion by Jaime Blasco, the story unfolds in a world where memory and identity blur, leaving one woman caught between past secrets and a future she can barely see. The cover by ORTSAC captures the tension with a single, striking image of a woman’s face half in shadow.

A secretary returns to the office to discover her boss unconscious on the floor and a stranger stealing an envelope from his files. The thief escapes, but her boss withholds information about the envelope from the police. On edge, the boss drives her home, but runs a red traffic light and is hit by a lorry. He soon dies and she has lost her sight. The doctor who can save her sight realizes that if he is successful, it will ruin his reputation because she would recognize him as the thief.
