Lindy had left her village to try her luck in the city. She is befriended by a man who had seen her on the train who is also new to the city. They attempt to find rooms for the night, but the city was full of people who were there for the start of the city grand festival week. Lindy feels she and Bill might be falling in love and they make plans to meet the next evening in the park. But she could not find him among the crowds assembling at the park waiting for the procession that would start the festival. With no other means of contacting him, she sadly decides to return to her village.
