Fred's beloved Philemon series rolls on with De Trein naar Straks ("The Train to Soon"), and the cover sets a wonderfully eerie tone — a massive, grotesque mechanical train crouches in the moonlit landscape like a living creature, its glowing eyes peering outward while small figures huddle around a campfire in the misty distance. Fred's signature surrealist wit is all over this image, blending the fantastical with the unsettling in that uniquely charming way that has made Philemon such a treasured Franco-Belgian series. This 2014 HUM! edition is a fine addition to the long-running adventure.
