The second issue of Image Comics' high-octane Petrol Head series arrives with a brilliantly festive variant cover — a heavily armored figure stands front and center in a snowy blizzard, hauling an enormous red sack over one shoulder like the gruffest, most battle-worn Santa imaginable. Behind him, a pair of massive monster trucks — one yellow, one bearing "ROCKET FUEL" markings — loom through the flurries, while smaller figures scramble nearby and a cheerful "Merry Xmas" is scrawled in the snow at his feet. With the tagline "Start Your Robo-Engines!" and the creative team of Williams, Pye, and Parr delivering this much personality on a single cover, this 2023 series is shaping up to be one of Image's most entertaining rides.
