Petpool: Pool Party #1
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freePetpool: Pool Party #1 marks the first print appearance of Catpool and Mousepool — two brand-new animal Deadpool variants created specifically for Marvel's Infinity Comics platform in 2024 — bringing characters that debuted exclusively in a vertical-scroll digital format into the longstanding tradition of the physical comic shop. It also contains the first in-comics appearance of the MCU version of Dogpool (as introduced in the 2024 film Deadpool & Wolverine), a rare and direct instance of a live-action movie character migrating into a 616-adjacent print comic with an explicit fourth-wall-breaking acknowledgment of that crossover. As a collected reprint of all the Petpool Infinity Comics plus a brand-new, print-exclusive holiday story, the issue represents a meaningful milestone in Marvel's ongoing experiment of graduating its vertical-format digital originals into the traditional periodical market — a pipeline that is still actively defining how Infinity Comics fit into Marvel's publication history.

The underlying material originated at San Diego Comic-Con 2024, where Marvel's Next Big Thing panel announced the Dogpool Infinity Comic series — launching that same day, July 26, 2024, exclusively on Marvel Unlimited — with writer Mackenzie Cadenhead (a former Marvel editor and author of the Marvel Mutts Infinity Comic) and artist Enid Balám, under editor Mark Paniccia. Catpool and Mousepool one-shots and the Dogpool Team-Up one-shot quickly followed in the last days of July and the first days of August 2024 as part of Marvel Unlimited's 'Friday Funnies' line. Marvel announced the print collection in September 2024, scheduling it for release on December 11, 2024 (cover-dated February 2025) — a holiday-season pairing alongside the Alligator Loki Holiday Special — and the creative team produced a completely new holiday adventure specifically for this print edition, making the collected issue more than a simple reprint.
