Petits contes pour grandes personnes #[nn]
This 2015 French album from Tapages Nocturnes offers grown-up retellings of beloved fairy tales — the subtitle line names Petit Chaperon Rouge, Alice, and Cendrillon as the trio of stories within. The cover by Pylate sets the tone immediately: a confident, partially undressed young woman in a red skirt and cape holds her jacket over one shoulder while a leather-jacketed biker idles on his motorcycle among forest trees behind her — a sly, adult reimagining of Little Red Riding Hood's woodland encounter. Pylate's clean linework and warm coloring give the whole composition a playful, knowing wink at the classic tales being retold.
