Peter Wheat News #49

Peter Wheat and his companion Beetle engage in a series of adventures and conflicts. After an initial jousting match between Peter and Beetle, Peter convinces Beetle to explore the desert region beyond a river. They attempt to cross dangerous rapids by felling a sapling as a bridge, but discover the journey more treacherous than expected. The story ends with them discovering what appears to be a vast field of red vegetables or crops in the desert, with the narrative continuing in the next issue.
