Peter Porkchops #54

Peter Porkchops is in fine form in this March 1958 DC funny-animal romp, as the bundled-up pig strains at a fishing rod over an ice hole, hollering "Help, Wolfie! I think I've got a big one!" Meanwhile, a grumpy wolf character is already pulled halfway through a second ice hole by the line — apparently he's the big catch. Otto Feuer's cover art captures that perfectly timed slapstick energy that made this series such a delight, with snowy scenery and a tackle box completing the scene.
