Roberta gets a teaching job in a small town but chafes under the strict rules of behavior required. She is attracted to principal Arnold, but he’s afraid of losing his job so she dates Tom to make him jealous. When Roberta is spotted with a man, Arnold, to save her job, says she was with him. Arnold is fired instead, but he’s not downhearted: now he can openly admit he loves Roberta.
