Pep #293 drops Archie and Veronica right into the heart of a sprawling 1974 rock festival, where Veronica — stretched out on a blanket in her yellow outfit — throws her arms wide and declares they're "free to leave the material world behind," surrounded by a turntable, snacks, and an enthusiastic crowd soaking in the music under the open sky. Archie lounges beside her while the whole Riverdale gang — Betty, Jughead, and friends — appears along the top of the cover in their best summer looks. Dan DeCarlo and Rudy Lapick capture the breezy, anything-goes spirit of the era with their trademark clean lines and warm energy.
