“To Tell the Truth”

From January 1962, this Archie Series gem presents one of the era's more delightfully absurd cover scenarios: Archie marvels at a bulbous, multi-eyed Martian simultaneously reading a "Jokes & Stories" book, doing homework, watching TV, and juggling several tasks at once, while the unimpressed Veronica coolly points out that Earth kids manage just fine with only two eyes. The cover art by Bob White captures the gang's signature warmth and wit, blending suburban teen charm with a wonderfully goofy alien visitor seated right at the desk. At 12 cents, Pep #152 is a cheerful snapshot of early-'60s Archie at its most imaginatively fun.
