The sixth volume of Marq van Broekhoven's charming Dutch gnome series finds Peer — stocky, bearded, and sporting his signature drooping red hat — slumped in a bright yellow armchair inside his cozy baseboardhome, arms folded and expression thoroughly grumpy. Subtitled Achter de Plint ("Behind the Skirting Board"), the cover peeks through the arched opening in the baseboard to reveal a small framed picture on the wall and a purple rug underfoot, painting a wonderfully snug miniature world.
