Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Gaydos bring their sharp noir sensibility to Pearl #11, with a cover that places the white-haired title character perched atop a dramatic pagoda-style rooftop, gun drawn, against a brooding skyline tangled with power lines. The composition — looking steeply upward from the street level bathed in deep reds and shadow — gives Pearl a striking, almost mythic silhouette that feels perfectly at home in DC's Jinxworld mature-readers line. AiPT! said it best right on the cover: there's genuinely nothing else on shelves in 2019 quite like this series.
