Sun, sand, and the whole Peanuts gang make for a wonderfully cheerful opening to this 2012 four-issue miniseries from Boom! Studios' KaBOOM! imprint. The cover places Charlie Brown buried up to his neck beside a towering sandcastle, Sally nearby in her swimsuit, Lucy wading at the water's edge with a shovel, and — stealing the scene — Snoopy riding a red surfboard in the shallows wearing a grass skirt. It's a warm, summery snapshot of Charles M. Schulz's beloved characters that sets a light, fun tone for what's ahead.
