PeaceMaker #5
Volume 5 of Ryouji Minagawa's PeaceMaker, published by Glénat in 2012, makes a striking impression right from the cover — a stern, white-haired older gunman in a teal military coat grips a heavy revolver with quiet authority, while two enigmatic figures loom in the sepia-toned background: one clad in ornate armor, the other a sharp-dressed cowboy adorned with cross motifs. The woodgrain framing and gold filigree border give the whole composition an almost antique-poster elegance, perfectly suited to the series' Western-influenced atmosphere. If you've been following this run, this volume promises more of the same beautifully crafted tension that makes PeaceMaker such a compelling read.
