From Mandragora's 2004 Polish release, Pattern arrives with a cover that immediately unsettles — a shadowy, partially obscured face peers through a haze of fragmented text and muted industrial tones, the single visible eye and what appears to be a gas mask or goggles lending the image a quietly menacing atmosphere. Rafał Gosieniecki handles the full visual package here, and his cover work sets a distinctly moody, cyberpunk-tinged tone. If Gene Kowalski and Gosieniecki's interiors match this eerie, layered aesthetic, Pattern looks like one of the more intriguing Polish comics offerings of its era.
