Patsy and Hedy #106

Summer sunshine radiates off this June 1966 Marvel gem as Patsy and Hedy — red-haired and dark-haired respectively, both in vibrant swimsuits — ride the waves alongside a couple of guys on surfboards, the crashing surf filling the cover with pure beach-party energy. Stan Goldberg's pencils and John Tartaglione's inks capture that mid-'60s sun-and-fun spirit perfectly, with the girls front and center and clearly having the better time of it. The cover promises "beach-party action and surfing galore" in the story "Sky, Sea and Sweethearts!" — and honestly, who could resist that invitation?
