Pat Sullivan's Felix the Cat #77
In "Star Lighter, Star Bright," Felix the Cat rides a cannon shell into the open sea, only to face a hurricane and a sunken ship teeming with food—just as a shark closes in. With a fish firing him from an old cannon, Felix’s wild escape takes a sudden turn as he’s hurled back into the storm’s fury, adrift on an unpredictable journey. Written by Joe Oriolo and Otto Messmer and illustrated by Joe Oriolo, this 1956 Harvey issue captures Felix’s classic slapstick peril with a splash of whimsical danger. The cover by Joe Oriolo perfectly frames the chaos, a 10-cent adventure in motion.

Felix gets away from the angry chimp by rolling off the island and into the sea, inside the same artillery shell casing he used to escape the battleship in issue #74. He's forced to abandon his makeshift casing-boat when a hurricane approaches. Diving beneath the waves, Felix finds a sunken ship full of food - but must flee from a shark. He ducks into an old cannon, which is fired by a fish, and is blown back into the teeth of the gale - headed for who-knows-where.
