Lynn wants to go see Pat Boone at the state fair and wants her guy Ken to ask her. Carol wants Ken to ask her. Lynn's so upset she doesn't want to see Ken, so Bette makes up a story that she's gone to audition to sing with Pat Boone. Once he gets the whole story, Pat saves the day and allows Lynn to save face.
