Paradigm #10

Paradigm #10 from Image Comics wraps its tenth issue in a charmingly hand-drawn aesthetic, with a wide-eyed, blonde girl in a dark heart-emblazoned tunic standing arms outstretched on lined notebook paper while golden fish drift and swim all around her. The cover art by Jeremy Haun leans into a childlike, almost dreamlike quality — the checkerboard borders and bubble-filled background give the whole scene an endearing, slightly surreal warmth. With Matthew Cashel's story "Dealing With the Process..." continuing inside, this 2003 series consistently shows a willingness to find its own visual and narrative voice.
