The eighth and final chapter of Dupuis's Pandora Box series arrives with a cover that radiates both desperation and possibility — a figure plunges through swirling, turbulent waters while a reaching hand extends toward them from above, the whole scene rendered in cold, churning blues and whites by Didier Pagot. Titled De Hoop ("Hope"), this 2006 Dutch-language edition promises a fittingly charged conclusion to the series' exploration of humanity's deepest impulses. Pagot's dynamic linework gives the near-drowning moment a visceral urgency that makes it hard to look away.
