Outsiders #20
Romance takes center stage in this March 2005 issue of Outsiders, with a cover by Doug Mahnke that's equal parts heartfelt and wonderfully absurd — a pink-haired blue-skinned woman and a rocky, android-like figure share a tender almost-kiss while tiny cupids flutter overhead shooting arrows amid floating hearts. Nightwing stands to the left looking decidedly unamused, while a red-haired woman in purple armor watches from the right, and the subtitle "Strange Love, or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Android!" makes clear that Judd Winick and Karl Kerschl are leaning into the humor with full confidence. It's a charming, offbeat valentine from one of DC's most unconventional team books.
